The top three finishers from last year’s FedEx St. Jude Classic will be reunited this week when play gets underway in Memphis.
Harris English topped Phil Mickelson and Scott Stallings by two shots to win his first PGA Tour title last year at TPC Southwind, and the trio will play the first two rounds together as English looks to defend his title. Mickelson, embroiled in off-course controversy, is still in search of his first top-10 finish on the PGA Tour this year, while Stallings has struggled to find his form after winning earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance Open. The group will begin the first round at 8:40 a.m. ET Thursday on the 10th tee.
Dustin Johnson, who won in Memphis in 2012, will play the first two rounds alongside Webb Simpson and Patrick Reed. Reed is playing for the first time since his wife gave birth to the couple’s first child, while Simpson is making his first start in this event since 2010. They will tee off No. 1 at 8:50 a.m. ET.
Zach Johnson headlines the afternoon wave Thursday, teeing off at 1:50 p.m. along with Ian Poulter and Justin Leonard, a two-time winner at TPC Southwind.
