While the PGA Tour season is getting underway this week at the Frys.com Open, a quartet of established stars are heading to Bermuda for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf. Nice work if you can get it.
Rory McIlroy (British Open, PGA Championship), Bubba Watson (Masters), Martin Kaymer (U.S. Open) and Jim Furyk (alternate) are set to tee it up on Tuesday at Port Royal Golf Course in the made-for-TV 36-hole event. What better way to prepare than by heading down a little early for some much needed R&R after a long season?
That seemed to be Rory McIlroy’s plan, as he posted the following picture to Instagram upon arrival.
As she often does, Mother Nature had a few plans of her own, sending Tropical Storm Fay to rain all over Rory’s parade. Poor guy can’t seem to catch a break lately.
Golf Channel’s own Gary Williams posted an eerily similar pair of Instagram pictures, and we thought it was important to get two sources on this story.
Amid all of the confusion that comes with a tropical storm, the PGA Grand Slam of Golf turned their Twitter feed over to Captain Obvious who tweeted out this gem:
